CCTV Remote Monitoring  SDL Security Limited

All the DVR's in our preferred range can be set up to report to our CCTV remote monitoring station.

Clearly monitored intruder alarms provide reassurance that an activation will notify the monitoring station, who in turn will take the appropriate action to call the keyholder and if necessary the police. Very often insurance companies will insist that their clients install a monitored intruder alarm if they are to extend insurance cover to them.

However expectations that the police will catch the criminals in the act are rarely met as the response times from the police will vary according to the level of response afforded to that customer. The police will either respond immediately, respond once other priorities have been dealt with, or indeed the police may not respond at all. In most cases the police will turn up after the event and collect information from the crime scene.

Stop Crime Before It Occurs?

With most conventional CCTV systems crime may only be detected after the event. For example if a car is broken into in a company car park on a Friday afternoon the event may only be discovered on the following Monday. At this point the laborious job of reviewing CCTV images will begin to find the event.

A more proactive, cost effective, and secure solution is as follows, imagine this scenario:

  • A criminal walks on to site and is detected by an external movement sensor

  • An automatic message is broadcasted warning the criminal that he is being remotely CCTV monitored

  • A CCTV camera pans tilts and zooms to the area of the alarm event

  • A connection is made to the CCTV monitoring station and the operators zooms in more closely to the criminal

  • A live announcement is made to the criminal warning him again this time with more specific information, stating that the police are on their way.

Even the most determined criminal should realise that he should move on rather than risk a spell in jail!
