When selecting this page from the menu I am sure you were either intrigued, curious, confused,  or perhaps you thought it was just a plain error putting this page on this site - all will become clear by reading on.

This story begins on the Friday 23rd of September the evening before the game against Hertfordshire. I was in good form in the superleague sitting 9th in the averages having recorded one of my best performances, and I had won my last two county games.

Confidence was high as I went  to kip on the Friday night, so I slept well. That was until I woke up to my daughter Louise shouting out in the night. 'Her indoors' wears earplugs, so like had to go to Louise's room.  Louise was upset but agreed to go back to sleep, so I went back to sleep myself. Twice more at 45 minute intervals this happened and she would not tell me what was up but each time she agreed to go back to sleep.

On the fourth occasion (by this time I was mighty pissed off and tired) she told me what was up. It turns out that one of her teachers at her new school would not deny a story that was going around the playground, that of a teacher/nun (AKA Black Nun) became pregnant and hung herself in the school grounds. At least I could now understand why Louise couldn't sleep, and I expected that having spoken about it she might sleep through the rest of the night. The last of the seven times that she woke me was at 04.30 on the morning of the game against Hertfordshire.

I got to the venue a little tired but OK. On the practice board I played great darts however on the stage it fell apart a bit and I lost 3-2. I can't blame Louise or her teacher too much, but on reflection it was clearly the fault of the Black Nun.

I need a library of excuses like this as I am often in need of them, so if you have any please email them to me and I will put them on this page which is currently entitled the BLACK NUN. By the way the theme music is the 'thong song'  - I think that is what she is wearing on her eye?
