February 2008

(28/2/08) The chances were that Mark Walsh and Andy Hayfield would win the Superleague Pairs and that Mark would also win the singles, and both assumptions were correct. However the singles final was tightly contested with darts 'Legend' Peter Evison and the pairs final was equally close. Semi finalists in the singles were Adam Simpson and Gary Noonan.

(27/2/08) Today I heard that Richard Shearer died in his sleep on Monday, for those who new him well I am sure that this a sad news. There is a topic on DartsHome where people are writing messages of condolences. For those wishing to attend the cremation it is at 3pm on Friday at the East Chapel of Ruislip Crematorium, Breakspeare Road, Ruilsip.

(26/2/08) I have tidied up the players page, if you do not have a link to your own page then have a peep at what has been done for the others and send me your details.

Just to lighten the mood in advance of the next game, follow this link to a new forum subject.

(25/2/08) The Men's Superleague Stats have been updates, 2 points still separate the top three teams.

(22/2/08) The Baldyman Gnaws Beanies Bone.... story to follow, fortunately no pictures are available.

Respect to Micky Seagar - nuf said!

(21/2/08) It looks like nobody wants to win the Men's Superleague with Tithe Farm and Caesars drawing and The Royal Oak doing the same against Hayes FC. However Caesars must remain favourites as they managed to get all of their team to turn up to a match. Mark Williams, Ray Knox, and Nick Patel carried the Royal Oak flag very well indeed winning their singles. Martyn Ekis done all he could to overcome Tiny Ted but went down fighting. Selection for the next game will be interesting as Stuart Pickles, Terry Andrews, and Jason Clark return to the team - who'd be a team captain or a selector?

Linking this subject to the next, I was very impressed by Tom Morris last night - kicked my but good and proper.

Currently the county team is 12 points behind Cambridgeshire with Glamorgan in the middle, but this may not be the case after the next game. It is not inconceivable that both Ladies teams win 4-2, and if the Men's B get a skinny 8-4 win, and the A team get a skinnier 7-5 win then everything turns upside down if Glamorgan fail to win their game. Middlesex will be clear of the relegation places with two games to go!

(17/2/08) The Ladies Superleague page has been updated.

(16/2/08) Jason Clark had his meeting with the DRA yesterday, the outcome is on the forum, but in brief Jason will be darting with the PDC again in around a month or so.

(15/2/07) I would like to re-iterate my congratulations to H in winning 5 games on the trot in the B and her return to the A team is welcome. Although mentioned in the same sentence there was no implied link between H's promotion and my comments with regard to the Daly birds, they are two separate issues.

Congratulations to Ian Long and Adam Simpson on their qualification through to the World Masters on Wednesday.

(12/2/08) The county selection for the game against Cambridgeshire has been made. Micky Doabe's ticker seams to be on the mend as he returns to the Mens B. A 3 -0 win with his opponent nowhere near a double will be welcome (no close shaves please Mick). Last years rising start Peter Stokes returns to the subs bench, I am sure only temporarily.

Congratulations to 'H' on promotion to the Ladies A, I hope that Karen Daly's drop to the B does not signify anything significant. Karen and Anita are much valued players in the county and I hope they will continue to do us well both this year and next year.

(11/2/08) Our opponents for the next county match are Cambridgeshire, visit their web site. If all goes well one of the Men's A Team will have the pleasure of meeting (maybe beating) Martin "Woolfie" Adams.

Here is the Picture of the gang in the Las Vegas Open (Terry, Scott, Maggie, Roy, Sonia, Alan, and Bill)- thanks to this who wore the DartsHome logo in Vegas and at the last county game.

There is a debate on the forum re selection, anyone who wants to voice an opinion is welcome, however turning up to an AGM and voicing will be even better! That said if what has been said is true it will be sad to lose Anita and Mick - all being well these issues will be resolved resolved before the end of the season, better still before the next game.

(10/2/07) John Scott has provided the info to update the Men's Superleague page.

(8/2/08) Our Chairman's report on the game against Yorkshire is on Dartshome.com.

The Stats for the last county game against Cheshire are also on the site now. Sharon Heaffey is again lady of the match for Middlesex A, and its Richie for the Mens A. Tina Neylon and Mark Sherwood have the honours for the B Teams.

(7/2/08) The Men's Superleague is unfolding and heading for an exciting finish to the season. Ceasars did not play last night, however The Royal Oak just eclipsed the Tithe Farm to move into second place, just one point behind Ceasars.

(1//2/08) Congratulations to Deniece Lewis for getting to the last 8 of both the ladies singles and the pairs in the Kent Open.

Chris Hill has posted a video on DartsHome.com called the Churchill Assassinated - you can work it out.
