November 2007

(28/11/07) At last there is some Christmas spirit, check out the forum.

(27/11/07) The Ladies Superleague report is in, click the link for Jo Candlers' report found on the Ladies' Superleague page.

(26/11/07) The Mens Superleague reaches its half way stage, click the link for John Scotts' report found on the Mens' Superleague page.

(24/11/07) I have been contacted by Bill Duffy with news that Sue Steele has sadly passed away. Bill, as a senior member of the county and superleague,  has asked me to extend condolences on behalf of the whole of Middlesex.

(19/11/07) I have been flooded with an email. It was a good one so I would like to share it with you all, and besides writing about it here it will be mentioned on the players web page, and it will be on the players walk on music page. Follow the link to see Alan Taylor's new sponsors page.

(17/11/07 p.m.) Excellent report by Telmanc, follow the link.

Darts is good on the Beeb at the moment, ITV starts soon, nothing beats Middlesex on DartsHome TV though.

(17/11/07) Chris Hill has added a video clip from the Essex game on DartsHome.com.

(16/11/07) Andy Fordham was on GMTV yesterday, if you missed it as I did follow the link and find the video footage.

Its not just Maggie hitting the headlines, Sonia Duffy recently played in Hayling Island and was only beaten by Trisha Wright in the semis. Sonia done well in the other tournaments, but I lost my bit of paper so you will have to guess the rest.

(15/11/07) Congratulations to Maggie Sutton again,....... this time she carried George McKie and Gary Hawkins to the triples title in the Thithe Farm last night. However Roy Peacock, Mark Haggerty, and Fifi were very unlucky to be beaten 3-1 in the final I am sure. If Terry Hennessey, Lisa Norton, and Scott Robertson were playing as a triple they would have done very well as well.

I for one think all of the selectors and captains mentioned above are very intelligent and astute dart players and indeed very nice people, which brings me nicely on to the next subject.

The selection for the county has been announced and for the first time in a while there has been a little movement. Scott Robertson has returned to the Mens A and there can be no arguments as he on excellent form for months now. Perhaps a little more controversially Shiny Shoes gets his first outing on the A,.... hmmm. Peter Barnes, Micky Doabe, Tony Hill, and Kevin Lynch return to the B.

There are no changes to the Ladies A and B, though Dee Jules-Stock is listed as a reserve for the first time.

Returning back to the threes, Deano had a 154 finish in the semis, Maggie missed a 135 in the other semi, and Gary and Roy hit 180's in the final.

(14/11/07) Longman is representing Middlesex in the Lakeside qualifiers later this week - wouldn't it be good if he got on the box!

Its the triples tonight, I can do with the practice so I will be there.

(13/11/07) Our next opponents are Hampshire, follow the ink to their site. When I looked there I could not see who plays for them, ..... but maybe its just me?

(12/11/07) John Scott has provided the latest Mens Superleague Stats, follow the link.

(11/11/07) Its a special day today for a few reasons, its my sisters birthday (happy birthday Julie!), I have a little time to update the web site, but most of all its Remembrance Sunday. Pop out for your poppy if you have not got one already.

Almost a week after it was sent to me the match report is now on DartsHome.com.

(10/11/07) Maggie Sutton won the singles and pairs in Malta recently, and although the money won't change her life she has won a place in the Ladies World Pro. Now I was told this last Wednesday after a couple of beers so the detail may not be totally accurate, if anyone has any further detail please let me know.

(6/11/07) The stats provided by Fifi are 100% perfect, however when I turn it into a pdf file some of the stats are corrupted - so back to plan A. Go to the Statistics page for the weekends performance stats.

(5/11/07) There will still be some of you who might doubt whether Middlesex are worthy of a place in the Premiership, we are after all bottom of the table and without a win! Playing against the top teams in the premier darts country of the world there are bound to be doubts, but consider this. So far we have played three of the top four teams and we have improved every time. This time we had a better Ladies Team average than Essex, and indeed we had a better Mens Team average than Essex - surprised?

Over the hole weekend we lost by a single game, had we won two more games, just two more... we would have been in the top half of the table - now you are very suprised! Take heart, look forward to the trip to Hampshire with you heart full of hope,  and display the courage we did this weekend and all will be well. Here is the stats for the match.
