October 2007

(27/10/07) Not everyone wants to read about Clarky so I will have a chat to him about setting a web site up for him. In the meantime for those interested, he dumped Mark Dudbridge out of the PartyPoker.net German Darts Trophy in the third round before losing to Vincent van de Voort.

(23/10/07) There are no changes to the Mens team for the game against Essex, the only ladies alteration is that Lisa Brosnan has given way for Tina Neylon in the Ladies B. Take a peep at the Essex web site

(21/10/07) Clarky goes out 7-3 to James Wade in the semi, I am chuffed for Jason and I am sure most and perhaps all of you all are too. Every player has good times and bad times, Jason is currently on a roll that may take him to the Ladbrokes.com, I haven't seen him play this well since he came runner up in the Hammersmith League Singles Championship in 2006.

(21/10/07) Yesterday Clarky got to the semis of the Scottish Players Championship only to be beaten by Andy Smith 'The Pieman'. Jason had earlier beaten Mark Dudbridge and Dennis Priestly to bag some dosh that puts him in closer contention for a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Championship.

Now hold your breath.... he is currently in the semi-final of the BlueSq UK Open Scottish Regional Final. So far he has beaten Terry Jenkins and Andy Jenkins....

In recent weeks Jason has beaten 4th, 10th, 12th, 15th,16th in the world and many others, is the door is starting to open for him towards the very top?

(19/10/07) Congratulations to Tithe Farm A (Ian Long, Peter Barnes, Scott Robertson, Gary Lewis) for winning the fours this week and in the process beating arguably a stronger more experienced team in the Royal Oak A. The difference, and it should be applauded, was the great sense of team and togetherness that they displayed on the night. If the Royal Oak were able to capture that support and belief in each other then I would feel more certain that we could win the league.

Although I did not see the next game I am writing about I am sure that the same spirit must have been shown by Tithe Farm B (John Scott, Beanie, Deneice Lewis, Terry Hennessy) as they eclipsed the much fancied Caesars (Mark Haggerty, Roy Peacock, Gary Hawkins, George McKie). What odds would you have got before the game that Caesars would have lost? I suppose Mark, Roy, Gary, and George will have to chalk that one up to experience..... Doh, ...forget that bit about chalking!

A chap has contacted this site with regards to his team in the Black Horse in Greenford. The Black Horse are looking to join a local league, so if anyone can suggest a league pop it on Talking Tungsten on DartsHome.com under Middlesex Darts General Matters and post your suggestions.

Jo Candler provided the ladies stats a few days ago, please either go to the Ladies Superleague or click here for the info.

(17/10/07) Chris Hill has now published clips from matches 7-12 from the mens B match against Cornwall - the ladies A and B will follow shortly followed by the mens A.

(14/10/07) The mens superleague stats form week 3 are now on the mens superleague page.

Terry Andrews is about to play his 150th match for Middlesex, a great achievement in anyone's book. With a win in the A on a bullseye finish in his 149th match, a repeat in his 150th would be well received.

(11/10/07) Those of you who use DartsHome.com will have had access to video images from the Cornwall game over the weekend. Supersub Chris Hill done all the clever stuff  - so my thanks to him. More video to follow next week.

Yesterday I agreed to provide gift vouchers to our existing customers who refer SDL Security Limited to other potential customers who eventually purchase from us. During the conversation it was decided to offer gift vouchers to players/officials that are associated with the superleague/county. If you think that anyone (or company) might need CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, intercoms, or automated gates please have a chat with Chris Hill, Ian Long, Terry Andrews, or Graham Inniss, alternatively click on the SDL logo in the top left of the screen.

(10/10/07) Dave Bateman has posted his match report for the game against Cornwall on DartsHome.com - if you can't be bothered to go there then you can wait a few days until I get time to put it on here.

(9/10/07) A few people last weekend told me that I was looking old, tired, and haggered - I told them to bogg off. However they had a good point as I am getting older after all, and I and several others had a late night on Friday setting up the stage and display system.

Predominantly the same people worked over the weekend either logging statistics, selling raffle tickets, manning the door, or working the audio visual system. This is not a moan at those of you who did not help with the set up, bit it is a good reason why the Live Match Update service will no longer be available...... that is unless someone else wants to do it?

(8/10/07) The results and averages from the weekend are now on the Statistics page

(7/10/07) What a come back by the A Team this weekend, although a little overdue it was very welcome. The match this weekend should prove to all of our players that we belong in the premiership, this is shown by the consistency of our ladies, and the courage of the Mens A. A return to form by the Mens B ( or perhaps a little more fortune) and our future is safe in the top flight.

(5/10/07) Martyn Miles will not be available for us this weekend as he is moving to Devon on Saturday. Knowing that a reserve may well be required this week I tried to persuade him to wait a day but his wife Sue was having none of it - you can see Martyn's reaction.

Martyn and Sue will be booking up for the weekend against Cheshire, so those who have not had the chance to wish them well will be able to do so then.

Now, I mentioned that there was a spare place.... Unfortunately Eddie Collinge is not available this weekend so someone has had to be promoted to the A. Terry Andrews moves up to the A team leaving a spot in the B, I don't know if someone has been selected for the B but if I would encourage all reserves to attend as this might be your chance to play.

(4/10/07) Danny rustled up good food as always, however a less than crisp performance by Graham Inniss in the last game allowed Longman to pull a draw off for Tithe Farm against The Royal Oak.

(3/10/07) Mark Tiller has passed on his best wishes for our game against Cornwall, and I am sure that many of us are wishing Mark well when he plays his game for Surrey this weekend - all the best Mark!

(2/10/07) Its too early to call the game with The Oak and Tithe Farm a title decider, but it is a crucial game.

Tithe Farm have this years Lakeside qualifier and last years Winmau qualifier Ian Long; Last years English National Singles qualifier Mick Seagar; Scott Robinson with a 30+ average in his last county game; A team county player Peter Barnes;  6 out of 8 county games won last year by Mark Barkshire; County Player of the Year Gary Lewis; 9 dart Kevin Lynch; Experienced A team player John Scott, 34+ average county player Chris Hill; even so some are saying they don't have a prayer of beating the Oak - but they also have the Pope (Ben Stevenson)! Should be a great game but too soon to decide the league.

(1/10/07) The official men's superleague results and tables for week two are in, as is John Scott's report - visit Men's Superleague.

(1/10/07) Last month against Kent the Live Match Update service was not operational due to poor signal strength, however this month as we are playing at home against Cornwall so there should be no reason why the full service should not be resumed.
