(1/5/08 p.m.) The Richard Shearer Summer Singles starts on the 22nd May 2008, more news to come tomorrow.

(1/5/08 a.m.) The Men's Superleague page has been updated again, all hail John Scott for his contributions to Middlesex whilst being a London player.

(30/4/08 p.m.) TalkSport radio interview with Dave Whitcombe and Bobby George chatting about the the Keith Dellors sex change and the League of Legends in general.

You will all know that Peter Evison has been selected to play in the League of Legends, if you want to play in a tournament organised by Peter that is to be played on Thursdays at 8.45 at Hayes Football Club, then carry on reading. It's called the Richard Shearer Summer Singles, the format is best of 12 legs 501 for 15 weeks (I am not sure of the start date at the moment), entry fee £50 and an additional good will payment which you will get back at the end of the tournament (in order to stop people dropping out half way).

The winner gets £400,  r/up £300,  3rd £200,  4th £175,  5th £125, 6th £100, in total £1300 in prizemoney. Contact Peter directly as there are few spaces left.

Another tournament that we are all familiar with is the Grand Prix. This is to be played on Wednesday nights, run over 12 weeks starting 21st May at Hayes FC (the other venues are the Royal Oak and the LPR). You earn points each week and try and make your way into the top eight. If it is the same as last year there will be a tournament for the top eight to decide the winner, and there will also be a return of the 100% attendance tournament.

Top 8 payout  - Winner £500.00 , runner-up £250.00 , semi's £125.00 , last 8 £75.00. Attendance Winner £60.00 , runner-up £30.00 , semi's £15.00 . Weekly payouts Winner £25.00 , runner-up £10.00 , semi's £5.00. Entrance fee per week £3.00

More news to follow tomorrow regarding Maggie's trip to the Benidorm Open, and the Men's Superleague - that is if the feeling in the end of my fingers comes back.

(30/4/08 a.m.) I have had some anonymous advice via email, 'when going down always take a glass of water to bed'. I tried it and it made no difference to me, I looked at next years fixtures again and Middlesex still remained in the 1st Division? Here are the Fixtures for next year, they will also appear on DartsHome.com before the new season starts.

Before we get on to next year we should first complete the county stats for this year, follow the link to Statistics for the game against Glamorgan, and for the complete year. From what I can gather Terry Andrews is the Men's Player of the Year, and Fifi takes the honours for the Ladies - there are no words good enough to describe what they do for the county as a whole, and on top of that they manage to win players of the year. I will stop at that point as Dave 'honestly I didn't fall off and then out of bed ' Bateman, will I am sure cover this ground and more in his report.

More news to follow tomorrow regarding Maggie's trip to the Benidorm Open - that is if the feeling in the end of my fingers comes back.

(24/4/08) The Mens Superleague season was decided in the most dramatic fashion at the Royal Oak last night.  Caesars need only a draw to win the league (presuming that they win their final game against Hayes), so at two all after the pairs the match appeared to be in their favour. As Johnny Scott recently mentioned "It is squeaky bum time", and a small number of players myself included suffered from this in the pairs.

Ken Partington did not play to normal high standard and lost 3-0, all of the other games were dramatic and all were won or lost 3-2. The other singles games (not necessarily in the correct order) Peter Green bt George McKie, Stuart Pickles bt Peter Evison, Vern Shepherd bt Ray Cornibert, Gary Hawkins Bt Gary Noonan, Terry Andrews bt Roy Peacock, Mark Haggerty bt Jason Clark, leaving the result before the last game 6-5 to the Oak.

So the position is that which ever team wins the last single would win the league. Up steps Joe Stone, for Caesars, who has been on excellent form for months now winning the the Middlesex Gold Pairs. For the Oak up steps Ian McNeil who has not turned up to as many games as many would have liked.

The season for both teams now balanced on these two players both on a double in the final leg, now a single dart would define which team would be champions. This is an excellent position to be as a spectator, but as a player it must have been nerve racking. The darts remained high class even in these conditions as the players reached the double at the same time. Double top sealed it for Ian and the Oak who were understandably delighted to have won.

This is going to sound very corny but it must be said, Joe Stone performed like a star and held up under intense pressure so he deserves massive respect and praise. It should also be stated that Caesars as a team performed superbly well, and contributed whole heartedly to an excellent atmosphere all night before and after the final result. It is unlikely that there will be such a close finish to a season for many a year to come, everyone involved last night should be rightfully proud.

(22/4/08) As the superleague season comes to its conclusion, the reports come in thick and fast, please go to the Mens and or the Ladies for the latest information.

I will soon put up information regarding the Grand Prix and the Richard Shearer Singles (last year this was known as the Super Summer Singles).

Although the county team has not performed overall as well as we would have liked, I have enjoyed our season in the premiership and I look forward to a speedy return. One of the main things that differentiates Middlesex county from others is that we have a good, friendly, family atmosphere even when things get tough as they did this year. Hopefully we can set a tone for next year by having a healthy win against Glamorgan.

Peter Evison is our local representative in the League of Legends, follow the link for more info.

There have been problems on the Dartshome.com forum that I now think have been resolved - please test it out to make sure your account is working, even if is only to say Hi.

(17/4/08) Jo Candler has provided an update on the Ladies Superleague, and it only took me one day to put it on the website!

The Royal Oak managed to overcome the might of Blarneys last night, and although the score (9-3 I think) looked one sided it was an excellent match with at least three 30+ averages.

(15/4/08) John Scott has provided an update on the Men's Superleague (in fact he done this around a week ago - sorry for the delay)

Hampshire Prop 1.JPG (457481 bytes)Hampshire Prop 2.JPG (356446 bytes)(14/4/08) A few days ago I mentioned proposed format changes to the BICC, have a look at the document and then go to DartsHome.com and put your thoughts forward on whether it is good for the game, good for the county structure as a whole, good for Middlesex, and indeed good for you.

This story prompted me to ask a question about the Ladies format in the superleague as I recently had two comments made to me with regard to the lateness of the time when the ladies complete their game. However with no supporting comments to that argument made it would be easy to conclude that the ladies are happy exactly as they are.

Dave Bateman's report for the match against Lancashire is now on DartsHome.com. I am not sure if Dave is suffering from a bad memory, amnesia, or Alzheimer's, as there appears to be big gaps in his recollection of the events.

Here is a link to our next opponents web site, Glamorgan.

(13/4/08) The webdesigner for DartsHome.com is working on the forum as many of you may have noticed. All being well full service will be resumed shortly.

Beanie has put the video highlights for the match against Cambridgeshire on Dartshome.com

The Middlesex Ladies British Masters representative in Hemsby is Pauline Dyer who beat Coreen Loffler in the final - I have no further detail here at the moment, but if I receive it I will pass it on.

I qualified for the men beating an impressive Gerry Mooney (LPR) in the first round playing some of the best darts that I have played in years, which was just as well as I had to continue with that form to scrape past Scooch, Churchill, and Scotty too Hottie.

No surprise then that I was a little disappointed to be dropped to the B Team for the match against Glamorgan, but with three losses on the bounce it was not a great shock. Returning to the A Team after missing the last game is Mr Blobby, and joining me in the B team is Terry Hennersey. Follow the link for the full selection.

The ladies A sees a return of Tina Neylon who replaces Deneice Lewis who returns to the B team.

(5/4/08) Beanie has made an excellent video from the county weekend, follow the link.

The stats for the game against Lancashire are ready....... for those who can bear to look, only two men over the weekend did not suffer a loss, Terry Andrews and Alan Taylor. The ladies done us proud again, in particular the B who are tied at the top of their section

If you were one of the people who thought that Lancarshire made a serious boo boo, don't worry you were not on your own.

(1/4/08 a.m.) Sad news for Lancashire (or should I say LANCERSHIRE) as their championship challenge is torn to tatters. However the bad news for our opponents last weekend turns into excellent news for Middlesex. Unfortunately for the home side a spelling mistake and other anomalies in the official documentation means that the BDO have had to transfer all points earned over the weekend to Middlesex, and it looks like we might not be going down afterall!

Dave Bateman has stated "Though I am sorry for Lancashire, it has turned out to be great news for me. My performance over the weekend was very impressive overall, and with this news I can claim to have a hat-trick of keeping something up".
