Men's Superleague

Table, Results, Averages.

(19/11/08) With one more match to go before the Christmas and New Year break (yes it really has come round again that quickly), the Super League is still not taking any real defining shape.

Father Ted's are certain to be top going into 2009 as they have a two point lead at the top of the table but the chasing pack of Caesars, Royal Oak, Tithe Farm SC are close at hand to capitalise on any slip ups, and let's not forget Blarney's, who are not out of the race either with their game in hand. Hayes FC seem to have consolidated in mid table despite a team on paper to match any other. Next come the two rookie teams with St Kilda's just edging out Conways 4 on leg difference, and the bottom two remain the same as they finished the end of last season, with LPR just above Harrow Borough.

Week 8 saw the debuts of two boys from down under, who are set to grace Father Ted's team through the winter months. Last years World Professional runner up Simon Whitlock, and his partner (not in that way though!) Rob Modra are hear for the near future although with only
three games between now and their February 11th clash with second place Caesars (and those games including games against both the bottom two sides), it is debatable whether the signing of the two Aussies will swing the title any further towards Kilburn than it was before they arrived. I would also like it noted that Simon Whitlock - 2008 WORLD PROFESSIONAL RUNNER UP - only managed to equal the 27.33 average produced by yours truly this week!!!

John Maudesley (Hayes FC) had the highest average of the week with a superb 31.30, although Steve Salt (Conways 4) and Mark Walsh (Blarney's) were not far behind him. Mark Walsh did however record the highest finish of the week with 112.

Next week is the Mens' Mixed Triples at the Tithe Farm SC. Ian Long (Tithe Farm SC) and Sharon Heaffey (Harrow Borough) took the Mixed Pairs last week.

Table, Results, Averages.

(4/11/08) Firstly, apologies for the lateness of this weeks round-up but with a very long trip to Cornwall at the weekend I didn't get my usual head start on the stats through Friday and Saturday.

Anyway, on with the report...

Father Ted's won the game of the week as they hosted the Tithe Farm SC (and most of the Arsenal / Tottenham supporting population of Kilburn) and extend their lead at the top of the table. Caesars took advantage of a slip from both Tithe Farm SC and the Royal Oak to climb into second after an 8-4 win over St Kilda's - the Royal Oak had drawn away to Blarney's. In the other two results of the week, Hayes FC beat seven man LPR 8-4 and Conways 4 defeated Harrow Borough 9-3.

Performance of the week went to Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) for the second time this season and he once again graces the top of the averages, although he is being chased by team--mate Ray Cornibert (Royal Oak) all the way so far. Vern Sheppard (Caesars) and Gary Noonan (Royal Oak) are the nearest challengers 'for the moment' (that one's just for Tony Hill!!!).

A long way to go yet, but Father Ted's are looking good going in towards the Christmas break in two games time. It would still be a bold man to pick a winner this season though...

Regards, John

Table, Results, Averages.

After a successful (if not late) night at the World Professional Playoffs last week, back to league action once more. Another clash at the top of the table saw Father Ted's sneak past their rivals 7-5 and take a two point lead at the top of the table. Caesars sit in second place but improved their leg difference with an 11-1 drubbing of six-man Conways 4. Tithe Farm SC also moved up one to third after a 10-2 win over Harrow Borough. In the other matches, both Blarney's and Hayes FC elevated themselves into mid table with wins over LPR and St Kildas respectively.

It's all change atop the averages with Gary Noonan (Royal Oak) now sitting pretty (well as pretty as Gary can!) at the top. Ray Cornibert (Royal) and Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) are just behind him making it a Royal Oak one, two, three. Vern Sheppard (Caesars) is up into fourth, while Peter Stokes (Father Ted's) continues his run of form and moves up to fifth. Behind them, the immediate chasing pack is down to four with Peter Evison (Caesars), Allen Bond (St Kildas), Peter Green (Hayes FC) and George McKie (Caesars) all in touching distance.

This weeks plaudits go to both Ray Cornibert (Royal Oak) and Mick Seager (Tithe Farm SC) who threw 30.06 averages to take the award for the week. George Wilkinson (Tithe Farm SC) nicked the highest finish with a 126, and despite narrow defeat, the Royal Oak had the highest team average with 25.66.

See you all next week for the Bill Down Fours, where the Tithe Farm SC hope to successfully defend another team trophy.

Table, Results, Averages.

(6/10/08) With another break in league play due to the World Professional Playoffs, it is time to start looking at who this years contenders are going to be. Father Ted's, champions of 2006, are the early front runners, winning four of their first five matches to sit pretty at the top. Current champions, Royal Oak are behind them in second place, also unbeaten after their opening five games. Caesars are right in the thick of things in third, despite being the only side in the top four to suffer a defeat so far, and Tithe Farm SC are in fourth but having played one game less than any of the sides above them. With Hayes FC and Blarney's also looking strong despite indifferent starts, it remains one of the most open seasons we've seen in a long time.

In the averages, Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) is back on top after his fifth successive victory, and is closely followed by team-mate Gary Noonan (Royal Oak) in second place. Just one point separates the next four players, with Mark Walsh (Blarney's), Ray Cornibert (Royal Oak),
Vern Sheppard (Caesars) and Peter Evison (Caesars) all starting the season in fine form.

Also, the stats so far give the highest individual average to Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) with a 31.98 in Week 2, the highest team average goes to Father Ted's with a 25.61 in their victory over Caesars, and the highest finish stands at 145 by Tony Hook (Hayes FC). As we all know though, there is a long way to go yet!

Regards, John

(15/9/08) With three matches now played. and a break for the Reg Tunstell Team KO ahead of us, the league is starting to take a bit of shape.

Father Ted's sit at the top of the tree for the moment with three wins from three, but Caesars are only behind on leg difference after their own 100% winning start. Reigning champions Royal Oak are out on their own in third place with their first win coming in Week 3 although they remain  unbeaten in the Middlesex Super League this calendar year! Tithe Farm SC and Hayes FC are sitting in fourth and fifth places respectively, however Tithe Farm do have the luxury of a game in hand. Conways 4 recorded their first win of the season, leaving only Blarney's and Harrow Borough without a victory.

Mark Walsh (Blarney's) managed to sneak back to the top of the averages table - and this despite not playing a match! Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) and Vern Sheppard (Caesars) are both hot on his heels however after superb starts to the season. Peter Evison (Caesars) is in fourth place only marginally edging out Gary Noonan (Royal Oak), Ray Cornibert (Royal Oak), Allen Bond (St Kilda's), Phil Currie (Father Ted's) and Peter Green (Hayes FC) who are all enjoying some top form with 29+ Dynamic Averages even at this early stage of the season.

So far, the league is looking at a great season ahead with a number of teams involved in the title race, and a number of players showing some superb form which is always good to see.

See you all at the Team KO, and don't forget to print off these stats for your teams once in a while, as it stops people who aren't fortunate enough to be on this mailing list from moaning at me! On a similar note, if there is anyone you know who would like to be included on these e-mails, then please let me know.

Table, Results, Averages.

Well I must say what an amazing thing an early fine can do to people!!! This week I got home from work to find ALL the league scoresheets in! The only thing I can say is well done, you've set the standard now so let's stick to it.

In return, I have prepared the stats early this week as a treat so you can all sit relaxing (indoors) over the wet weekend swotting up on who sits where and who is on top of who!

We have a new leader at the top of the league - Father Ted's with two wins from two games lie slightly ahead of Caesars who also have a 100% win record so far. Hayes FC and Tithe Farm SC sit on three points after both winning one, and drawing one each with the Royal Oak, who remain
the only other unbeaten side so far.

In the averages, Graham Inniss has reached the summit after another great performance, and this week's highest average of 31.98. That contributed to the Royal Oak's team average of the week of 25.05, although Steve Dolan (28.90) and Gary Noonan (28.81) also helped the cause. Mark Walsh (Blarney's) sit in second, closely followed by Phil Currie (Father Ted's), Steve Dolan (Royal Oak) and Vern Sheppard (Caesars) who are all in fine form.

Enjoy your darts next week, and good luck to you all.

(3/9/08)  Mens Superleague reports are provided by John Scott.

Table, Results, Averages.

Welcome to the new Middlesex Mens' Super League season.

Week one has thrown up no real surprise results although the LPR take a shock lead in the title race after their 10-2 defeat of six-man newcomers St Kilda's. Conways 4 also were defeated 4-8 by 2007 champions Father Ted's.

Performance of the week also gave us no real surprise as Mark Walsh (Blarney's) started the season as he finished off the last one, hitting a 31.40 average to sit on top of the averages again. George Wilkinson (Tithe Farm) returned with a superb 29.82 average to sit second, and
Graham Inniss (Royal Oak) also performed superbly with a 29.47 average.

The only downer this week was that I have received no result sheet from the Conways 4 v Father Ted's match. The result was text to me on Thursday so I have been able to update the table but I have no averages to show, so a fine has been enforced already! Last season we managed to
go the whole season without one late sheet so it is disappointing that we have not picked up where we left off. I know it seems harsh being that Conways 4 are a new side but I have my own darting commitments on a Tuesday and Wednesday and so do not have the time to collate the
averages any time after Monday evening. I feel that a fine is the quickest way to learn. I hope this is the last time I have to be a miserable git!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new season and good luck to everyone (except when playing against Tithe Farm).

Regards, John

(30/4/08) The Royal Oak are the new champions. May I personally give my congratulations to all the members of the Harlesden based side.

However, the league is not over yet. The Tithe Farm SC still sit in second place, but Caesars can still overtake them with a win in their final game against Blarney's. Blarney's have a further game to play against Harrow Borough who need to take a win their to make sure they don't finish bottom of the pile. Blarney's in their own right can climb from their current position of sixth up to fourth with two wins themselves so there is still positional pride to play for in the two remaining games.

As we have known for several weeks, Mark Walsh is home and hosed in top spot in the averages, but it was Ian Long who came out with the best results over the past two weeks to take second place, and be assured of finishing in the top three. Richie Davis is in third, but both he and Ian can be overtaken by Vern Sheppard, should he win against Blarney's.

(22/4/08) After the re-arranged matches, it is now officially a two horse race. The Royal Oak and Caesars will battle it out for the title next week, with a win for either side confirming the title, or, in the event of a draw, Caesars will need to win their final match against Blarney's. The Tithe Farm SC can still finish level on points with the top side, but due to their inferior leg difference, and the fact that the top two side play each other, the title is mathematically out of reach.

The race for the averages is almost certainly over, with Mark Walsh recording another win and another 30+ average. Second and third spots are still well and truly up for grabs though- Regards, John.

League Stats

(15/4/08) John Scott -"It seems like forever since I sent out the last instalment of the Mens' Super League averages, and it has been a while so I thought I should recap on what has been a close fought season.

Caesars still sit top of the pile with 21 points from 12 games. The Royal Oak still sit just one point behind and the two teams square up against each other in the next round of fixtures. The Tithe Farm SC are hoping for a minor miracle now with just two games to play, and two points to make up, but after being in contention for most of the season, they have to be happy with their first serious title challenge despite threatening on paper for years. Below the top three comes a massive gap to last years champions Father Ted's, who have also played a game more than the teams above them, but it is Blarney's who perhaps hold the key to the title with games against both Caesars and the Royal
Oak to come.

So, it's squeaky bum time in the title race, and only time will tell who comes out on top. The smart money is on Caesars, but you can't discount the Royal Oak, and it will certainly be one hell of a game.

In the averages, there is not much chance that anyone is going to catch Mark Walsh (Blarney's) who sits clear at the summit with a possible four win points still to play for. The money for second and third places are a more open race with Richie Davis (Father Ted's) leading the pack at the moment. Adam Simpson (Hayes FC), currently in third, Vern Sheppard (Caesars), Ian Long (Tithe Farm SC), Mark Haggerty (Caesars), Gary Noonan (Royal Oak) and George McKie (Caesars) could all sneak in at the last moment to take the money as they all have two games to play, compared to Richie Davis' one".

League Stats

(25/2/08) The league tables are as below, thanks to Johnny Scott.

League Stats

(11/2/08) Caesars remain top of the table by a single point despite not playing this week, but the Royal Oak strengthened their own push for the title with a win over Tithe Farm SC, which moves them into second place.

League Stats

(27/1/08) Only one match this week, with Caesars sharing the points with Father Ted's. Caesars therefore remain top of the table, two points clear of Tithe Farm SC but having played a game more.

On a different matter.....Just a quick message to you all regarding the position of Super League treasurer. At the current time, Sharon Sadler does the job but she is no longer able to continue in this role due to work commitments. She has asked that I communicate this to you all in the hope that someone would like to take over the job. Please direct your responses to me, and I will forward them on to the appropriate parties - Regards, John Scott

League Stats

(10/12/07) The free week saw Caesars play one of their re-arranged matches against Harrow Borough, and a 10-2 win closed the gap at the top to just one point between the top three. Caesars of course have another game in hand, but with that being against local rivals Hayes FC, anything can
happen!

League Stats

(26/11/07) Here we are at the halfway stage and the season is already shaping up to be a tight one. Tithe Farm SC's win over local rivals Harrow Borough sees them sit on top of the table for the first time this season after the Royal Oak slipped on the Caesars banana skin. With Caesars themselves only three points off the pace but with two games in hand, they could well be on top before the next round of games in January. See you all soon, and if I don't see you before hand, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Regards, John

League Stats

(12/11/07) An eventful week in the Mens' Super League saw the Royal Oak keep top spot with a 10-2 victory over Harrow Borough. Tithe Farm SC kept up the pressure on them with an 8-4 win against Blarney's. Father Ted's were 8-4 winners over Hayes FC and Caesars won all eight singles in their 10-2 win agsinst the LPR. George McKie (Caesars) had the top average of the week with a 28.36 in his win over Brian Arthur (LPR) who in turn had the lowest average of the week!!! Ben Stevenson (Tithe Farm SC) has 'got your number' as he recorded a 118 finish in his win during Tithe Farm's victory - which in turn saw the highest team average of the week with their 24.96 against Blarney's.

League Stats

(14/10/07) On receipt of the sheets from Harrow Borough vs Father Ted's this morning I have compiled the averages for this week. I know some of you may not get them in time to print for your teams tonight, but with the post strike on I have had no way of getting to some of the stats until today. The Caesars vs Blarney's match has averages but no pairs results and no attendance as I have not had the sheets yet but Linda Haggerty kindly e-mailed me the singles results. Also, this week I have started using my new spreadsheet (which I built) for the stats. Use the tabs at the bottom of the screen to view the league table, averages and pairs tables, as well as the results. See you all soon, John.

League Stats

(1/10/07) The second week of the Super League has been and passed and with it, some more results to turn the table on it's head. Showing the competitive strength of the league this season, only two teams have won both of their opening matches.

The Royal Oak continued their strong start to the season demolishing Blarney's 10-2. After their defeat of last years champions in the first week, they look like favourites to give the title a good crack this year but we have seen strong sides fall before, and it is a long season.

Tithe Farm SC are the other team to have won both their matches, but in contrast have not impressed quite as convincingly - taking an 8-4 victory over the LPR despite being 4-0 up after the pairs, after a late surge took a victory over Hayes FC after being 4-5 down in week one. In complete contrast to this, the LPR and last years champions, Father Ted's are the only teams to have been defeated twice.

Don't expect the Kilburn clan to still be there come the end of the season, but once again it just goes to prove once again that this years title will be a tough one to get your hands on!

WEEK TWO STATS:

TOP AVERAGE:  Jason Clark (Royal Oak) 29.18

TOP FINISH: Gary Noonan (Royal Oak) 164

TOP TEAM AVE: Royal Oak (vs. Blarney's) 25.99

Regards, John

Averages, Tables.

(20/9/07) With the KO Cup over and done with, it was time to get down to the nitty gritty of the Super League proper. In one of the most competitive seasons for some time, there was lots of speculation as to who would win the title this season with last years champions Father Ted's and form teams Royal Oak and Caesars (formerly Hayes FC 'B'), plus the
strengthening of Blarney's and Tithe Farm SC giving all the ingredients for a cracking season.

In week one the champions were dealt their first blow as they were heavily defeated 3-9 by the Royal Oak. In other games, Tithe Farm SC, famous for their poor starts, recovered well to take their match against Hayes FC 7-5 despite being 4-5 down, and Blarney's made easy work of the LPR, taking all eight singles matches to win 11-1 overall.

WEEK ONE STATS:
TOP AVERAGE: Richie Davis (Father Ted's) 29.47
TOP FINISH: Mark Walsh (Blarney's) 143
TOP TEAM AVE: Royal Oak (vs. Father Ted's) 26.45

Averages, Tables.

John

(6/7/07) Last night the season started with the 8's competition. In the first round an impressive Caesars team boasting the likes of Mark Haggerty, Roy Peacock, Peter Evison, and Viagara Vern amongst others, were beaten by a strong Tithe Farm team in the first round. The most beautiful team in the competition was beaten by those handsome devils from the Royal Oak, and Father Teds and Blarneys beat Hayes FC and LPR respectively.

In a titanic battle the Royal Oak went down to Tithe Farm in round 2. This caused major repercussions in the City as stocks and shares tumbled on the London Stock Exchange, leading to a pay cut for Chris Hill and Ian Long. Father Ted's progressed to the final with a win over Blarneys.

Scotty Robertson aside, Johnny Scott was the hero of the evening getting the winning double in both the semi final and the final as Tithe Farm retained their title after beating Father Teds.

Quite rightly Peter Green is the first person to have their web page featured on the web site. Should any other player want to write their darts history, please send it in. It can be in the same format as Peters, the same format as the county pages, or indeed in your own format. Pictures would also make it more interesting. Peter Green
