   Intruder Alarms  SDL Security Limited

The fundamental purpose of an intruder alarm is to detect an intruder and notify others of that event.  The detectors come in various forms that, if selected correctly, will maximise security, minimise inconvenience, and also minimise false alarms.

Detectors range from door contacts that sense when a door is opened, vibration sensors that detect when a door or window frame is attacked, break-glass sensors that detect the sound of breaking glass, and movement sensors that sense movement in a protected area. The passive infra red detector is the traditional movement sensor, however dual technology detectors are now commonly installed, some of which are immune to pets!

SDL Security Limited design alarm systems that report to the external sounder, to the customer or neighbour via a speech dialler, to a central monitoring station via a digital communicator, via Redcare or indeed via Redcare GSM.

We also install Protect that triggers after an alarm condition. Within 20 seconds the Protect system emits a dense smokescreen that makes it impossible for a thief to find what they are looking for.

The decisions on the signalling to the monitoring station are often dictated by our customers insurers or by discussion with ourselves. For more information select the link to the 'Monitored' page.
